About us
Why Meminto exists
I’m Albert. When my grandmother died, her memories were left on loose pages. That personal story became a shared mission: today our team develops Meminto so families can preserve and pass on what matters.

The beginning
My grandmother and a stack of loose pages
My grandmother lived through the Second World War as a little girl. One evening we sat and listened to her – she told it so vividly we couldn’t stop.
When she was suddenly gone, she left her life story on dozens of loose pages. Someone had to save them and turn them into a real book. In the family it was quickly clear: the one with the most computer skills should do it – me. I had no idea what I was getting into: hard to read, no structure, out of order. I nearly gave up.
A piece of our family history was slipping away. I couldn’t let that happen.

2017
A system against forgetting
I thought many families must know this problem. In 2017, that became Meminto: a system that guides people through their story with simple questions – during their life, or later with family, without missing the moments that matter.
Meminto was first presented at a startup event in Heilbronn, Germany. Since then, we have continued to develop the idea together: with questions that make it easier to tell a story, and a form that helps memories stay close.

Our journey
Our work for families
That idea has grown into shared work: we develop the product, shape editorial questions and content, and look for answers that genuinely help families preserve their stories.
We design the books and offer personal guidance and support – so separate memories can become a book families want to hold, read and pass on. Our team also meets families and partners at trade fairs in Stuttgart, Germany.

The journey
From an email to a bound book
At first we just sent questions by email and built a document from the answers. Then we turned it into book form – with every hurdle: the right page count for each story, the right cover, every book an individual production.
We mastered it and kept adding themes: not only your own life, but relationships, children growing up, weddings, travels. Always the same principle: question and answer. Then came real voices, photos and videos in the book – and gift options like e-cards and lovingly made starter boxes.

Moving forward together
Making memories easier to keep
Every family teaches us something new. We develop Meminto so different life stories, relationships, childhood memories, weddings and travels can each find their own place.
The aim stays simple: an easy start, helpful questions and a personal book that people are happy to give and read together. We have also reached a major milestone: from Germany, we now ship our books to families around the world.

2022
The “Shark Tank” stage – and what came of it
In 2022, Meminto appeared on “Die Höhle der Löwen”, Germany’s Shark Tank, on VOX. Our shared idea of helping families preserve their stories reached a much wider audience. Around that time we also ran the Meminto Stories podcast (2021–2022).
The idea that began with life stories has grown into a whole library for memories: books for families, relationships, childhood, weddings, travel and many other chapters of life. Today, we make it possible to preserve all these stories in a personal way.

Sometimes we receive letters that show us why this work matters to families. This letter from a user in California is one of them:
“William opened the book and he couldn’t put it down. During the 45-minute drive back to their house, he read it aloud to his family. I have the privilege of seeing my modern-day grandson, who loves videos and gaming, enjoy something simple and old-fashioned – A BOOK! A very special book.”
Today
Preserving stories that last
We develop Meminto together as an easy way to capture memories and turn them into a personal book. At the centre are the people and families whose stories might otherwise remain unwritten.
Our aim is guidance that fits different moments in life: easy to get started with, personal in the result and open to the many ways families remember.
Stories that connect. Memories that last. Legacies that inspire.
- We preserve stories in their diversity – from biography to family chronicle.
- We connect people across time and space – bridges between generations.
- We preserve knowledge and wisdom that would otherwise be lost.
- We strengthen identity and belonging.
- We cultivate gratitude for lived moments.
“Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” — Psalm 90:12
